Fermax UK in partnership with Harrisons security services have successfully installed our pioneering new 2-Wire Duox technology into a 15 block residential complex in East London to the delight of residents. Otter Close is a large residential development comprising over a 100 apartments.

The challenge was to upgrade an old audio system to enable residents to have the benefit of the new Fermax VEO DUOX video monitor without incurring the cost and disruption of re-cabling. The solution was to retro-fit VEO DUOX video monitors and high grade 316 Stainless steel Marine Panels to allow for a seamless upgrade.

Otter Close residents were offered the option of audio or audio-video handsets using only two cores of the existing cable infrastructure.

A subsequent phase of the project will be to integrate barrier control into the Door Entry system which also includes high-frequency Smart Card readers mounted into entry panels. Using high-specification laser cut stainless-steel panels, the Fermax system was able to respect the existing aesthetics of the apartment entrances to avoid the need to redecorate the exterior of the blocks.

Panels were engraved to match current apartment numbers to allow the system to be installed and programmed with ease.
