The Videx - 98N is a fail-open electric drop bolt. It is used to provide high security locking for doors that must remain clear during power loss.
This drop bolt is installed into the door frame and provides a high level of physical security by extending a bolt into the door leaf. Because it is fail-open, the bolt retracts automatically if power is cut, making it safe for use on emergency exit routes. It is suitable for double action doors that swing in both directions and can be fitted to either the top or side of the frame.
