This electric release is designed for use with mortice night latches and provides a fail secure operation. When power is applied the latch release mechanism holds open, allowing the door to be pushed open without operating the lock. When power is removed the release returns to its locked state, securing the door. The fail secure design means the door remains locked in the event of a power failure, making it suitable for security applications. The unit is compatible with most standard mortice night latches.
