Mini magnetic locks (maglock) are versatile and relatively easy to install. Although called a mini maglock, this is the most popular size. The mini magnet has a removeable top plate which is fixed to the door frame (transom). The armature plate is fitted to the door. When the door is closed the magnetic pull of the electro magnet secures the armature plate. This is a direct pull action, not a sliding action. The armature plate must fit EXACTLY against the face of the magnet for correct locking.

This mini maglock is traditionally a fail safe lock. This means that it opens if the power fails. They are often used on doors where escape is required in the event of a fire. Always fit a break glass unit (eg D108) for emergency exit

You will often need a bracket to fit either the magnet or the armature plate. Most popular brackets are:

Use 2 brackets for double magnetic locks

• EX01TP Extended top plate for fixing to the transom (header of the door frame). This sets the correct distance from the door to the magnet.
• EMU275-L L bracket for extending the depth of the transom (header of the door frame)
• EMU275-LG L bracket for mounting the magnet on outward opening GLASS doors
• EMU275-ZL Z bracket for mounting the armature plate on inward opening doors
• EMU275-ZLG Z bracket for mounting the armature plate on inward opening GLASS doors
