Bell 101 Surface Housing Lock Release a mount accessory that allow electric rim lock releases to be fitted on the door frame surface, ideal where frame are too thin for morticing or recessed install.

The Model 101 is manufactured from heavy-duty steel with a durable black or metallic finish. It is designed to house a standard Bell 203 rim release (or equivalent small-style electric strike), providing a secure enclosure that protects the release mechanism. During operation, the housing is screwed directly onto the door frame (architrave), aligning with a surface-mounted rim latch (such as a Yale-style lock) on the door. This setup allows the electric release to catch the latch bolt of the mechanical lock, enabling the intercom system to electronically unlock the door for visitors without the need for significant carpentry or structural modification to the frame.
