The A2200 supports two working modes: riser mode and distributor mode, selectable via 3-bit DIP switches. In riser mode it amplifies and distributes the video signal vertically through a building riser. In distributor mode it splits the BUS to serve multiple lateral branches.

Built-in short circuit protection automatically isolates any faulted output. When a connected device causes a short circuit, the protection mode activates and the power supply for the affected ABCD output is turned off. The flashing in-use indicator confirms the distributor is in protection mode. The system performs automatic self-detection at regular intervals to check whether the fault has been cleared, restoring power once the short circuit is resolved.
